Loving Your Home from the Inside Out with Paint Colors

Whether you’re decorating a room or building a brand-new home, choosing paint colors may be the highlight during the process. While homeowners pay a lot of attention to the aesthetics of color, very few realize how important the paint quality itself really is. Higher-quality paint will go on smoother, take longer to dry and last longer due to the combined pigments, resins and solvents. Plus, it stands up to the wear and tear of daily life much better than inexpensive paint. From the selection of materials to the paint on the walls, attention to the finest details is a focus for our team.

At Faber Builders, we choose the best-of-the-best for our Rochester new homes and that begins with exterior and interior paint choices. Painting is an investment in time, money and labor that we make for our home buyers. When it comes to selecting paint, quality does matter. With the high expectation of quality and appearance, we have chosen PPG as our preferred paint vendor to maintain the pristine look of our new homes.

Each year, top paint manufactures name a Color of the Year that they feel will best represent the upcoming year. For 2019, PPG unveiled the rich, luxurious and classic shade of green known as Night Watch. This beautiful, versatile shade allows spaces to emulate the feeling of lush greenery and the healing power of nature.

“The restorative power of nature is important in society now more than ever,” explains Dee Schlotter, PPG Senior Color Marketing Manager. “Night Watch is about bringing the healing power from the outdoors into your home through color. The dark green hue pulls our memories of natural environments to the surface to recreate the calming, invigorating euphoria we feel when in nature.”

When paired with the right colors, Night Watch can be incorporated as a focal accent wall in a bedroom or dining room. It can be especially impactful in places without any view to the outdoors, like a hallway or interior bathroom. For exteriors, Night Watch is a gorgeous alternative to the trending black or deepest blue-black, and it works well as an accent on doors and shutters.

In addition to the color of the year and a variety of other popular colors, there is a surprising level of consistency in year-over-year ratings of consumer satisfaction when it comes to paint quality. Among the top 10 brands, PPG stands out for always ranking well for customer satisfaction!

PPG’s Night Watch was among many new colors for 2019. Pantone, one of the most well-known predictors for anticipating top color trends for fashion and design, announced Living Coral as their Color of the Year, while Sherwin-Williams went warmed with Cavern Clay and Benjamin Moore went cooler with Metropolitan.
