For example, for someone spending $1,000 per month renting an apartment who is looking for a home that costs $140,000, the costs result in a 27% savings of owning versus renting with a 30 year mortgage. The fact remains: you can save money while simultaneously building equity.

Optimizing Mudroom Space

It’s the room in our home that sees the most traffic, and in many cases, the most clutter. We kick our shoes off, throw our bags down, and bring some of the outdoors, in. The mudroom gets its name for a reason! We had so much fun talking about the new 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year last week with kitchens, that we decided to take a look at some do’s and don’ts for incorporating Rose Quartz and Serenity into bathroom designs. Once upon a time, vintage pink and blue subway tile bathrooms were all the rage (think: pink sinks, tubs, and toilets). While we can appreciate a well-designed pink tile bathroom, it takes a lot to make it work.
